Making It Easy for Patients to Say Yes Wu Orthodontics Hosts Next Study Club in Series

Thursday July 23rd 2009
4:30PM - 6:30PM & 6:30PM - 8:30PM

Making It Easy For Patients To Say "Yes" is designed for dentists and team members who want to enjoy improved case acceptance for complex dentistry - cosmetic, implant and restorative dentistry.

Many dentists have the technical knowledge to provide complex dentistry, but are frustrated with low patient acceptance of their treatment recommendations. With the many recent technical advances in the clinical aspects of care, treatment plans are growing more complex and expensive, making case acceptance even more challenging than in years past. Now, more than ever before the dentist and team need a predictable process for leading their patients towards good dental health care decisions.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the distinctions between simple and complex care patients
  • How to determine whether your patient is ready for complex care
  • To understand the role of leadership during the case acceptance process
  • Discover ways to reduce the stress of case acceptance

Palo Alto Dental ScreeningThis April there was a free dental screening at Herbert Hoover Elementary School to reach out to underprivileged kids throughout the Palo Alto community.

We are pleased to report that it was a great success!

The event was coordinated by the Palo Alto Unified School District and the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society. There were three Palo Alto dental professionals conducting the screening, Dr. Alan Lu, Dr. Latha, and Dr. Eric Wu. Together, they were able to screen 29 kids!

Dr. Eric Wu is the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society Chair and he also attended Herbert Hoover Elementary School.

Palo Alto Orthodontists & Dentists Meet!
March 2009

Palo Alto Study Club

At Wu Orthodontics, we are deeply committed to excellence in oral health. A key part to our commitment to our patients' oral health is our focus on continuing education. So, we hold regularly hold study clubs on topics of general dentistry. Tuesday, March 24th, is the second study club in a series of seven.

Fifteen to twenty general dentists from the Palo Alto and surrounding communities will attend the lecture held on the top floor of Wu Orthodontics' office building. The first lecture series will involve a presentation about the Damon System.

First, I will explain in detail what the Damon System is capable of and present several cases that I am working on. After my presentation, Dr. Terrell F. Pannkuk, a native Californian, will lecture on the differences between root canals and implants. He will discuss practical applications of the two and specific cases where each is appropriate.

Welcome to the 2009 Softball Season

Palo Alto Softball Team

We are so proud to serve as the sponsor of our own local Palo Alto Girls Softball League this Spring! As the days are getting warmer and longer, we are looking forward to cheering our girls on and bringing them lots of water to stay hydrated! You can bet that we were there, cheering on the team.

As Palo Alto natives, being involved in our own community is very important to us. Being educated and raised in Palo Alto, CA has shaped our character, values and beliefs. Part of those core beliefs includes the idea that community and giving back is of utmost importance. We enjoy working with families and children, through out the orthodontic process, so choosing to becoming involved with the Palo Alto Girls Softball League was an easy choice.

Since the Girls Softball League has been in the greater Palo Alto community for more than 25 years. Last year alone, 400 girls played, ranging in age from 5 to 14. As sponsors, we will be able to assist the league, outfit the teams, and improve the fields.

If you are interested in helping out, there are many ways. Call us at Wu Orthodontics or consider donating new or gently used softball and baseball equipement to help underpriviledged youth. Read more about ways to contribute to Working Wonders.
