What to Expect at your First Appointment
Getting Braces at Wu Orthodontics
It is our aim to provide our patients and their families with state-of-the-art orthodontic care. Your first visit with us will include a complimentary orthodontic evaluation that includes:

  • Filling out your complete dental and medical history forms

  • A comprehensive soft tissue, skeletal and dental evaluation

  • Three extra-oral photographs

  • Five intra-oral photographs

Once Dr. Wu has evaluated your dental/medical history forms and completed your orthodontic exam, he will provide you with an orthodontic consultation to go over your estimated treatment plan and payment options.

What to bring with you to your first appointment?

When you arrive for your first appointment, please make sure you have these things:

    • Your completed Health History Forms

    • Your completed Patient Fun Facts form

    • Your insurance card, and any additional insurance information you might need

  • A recent panoramic radiograph or full mouth x-rays from your dentist (if available)

The importance of regular check-ups

Visiting the orthodontist regularly is an important part of your orthodontic treatment.

Wu Orthodontics regular office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8am - 5pm (with special hours on holidays).

Orthodontic appointments are scheduled 6 to 10 weeks apart. Your first appointment to get your braces put on will take about 2 hours; and, your reoccurring check-up appointments will take about 15-30 minutes.

At Wu Orthodontics we make every effort to be on time for our patients, and we ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you are running late, or cannot make an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

Should I still see my dentist during my treatment?

The answer is simple YES! Before beginning your orthodontic treatment we recommend that you schedule an appointment for a dental check-up. Your dentist can make sure that you have no cavities and that your gums are healthy and free from any signs of periodontal disease.

Throughout your orthodontic treatment is important to continue seeing your dentist every six months for teeth cleanings and to make sure your teeth and gums are in good health.

Flexible Payment Options

Cost of Braces or Invisalign

The cost of your orthodontic treatment depends on the severity of your case and the amount of time it takes for your treatment to be completed. We will discuss all of your costs and payment options with you before your treatment begins.

Our flexible payment plans are designed to be convenient and affordable for all of our patients. We have options to fit a variety of budgets; including, a no-down-payment option. We also accept coverage from most insurance plans, and we'll take care of all the necessary paperwork from your insurance company for you.

Orthodontic Payment Plans

We have established the following financial policy in an effort to keep your fees low and your costs to a minimum throughout your entire orthodontic treatment:

  • We accept most major credit cards, including: VISA and MASTERCARD

  • We offer automatic deductions for your monthly payments.

  • We offer third party financing.

Insurance

If you have insurance coverage, we can help you determine what portion of your insurance is available for your orthodontic treatment. We ask that you please assign your insurance benefits to yourself.

The balance will be arranged for you to pay based on our office payment plans. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company; therefore, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way that we can to properly file your claim and handle any insurance questions from your provider in-office, and on your behalf.
